Tinopolis is proud to team up with BAFTA to champion Welsh talent by funding two consecutive scholarships from this year onwards.
The BAFTA Tinopolis Scholarship is part of BAFTA’s wider UK scholarship programme, and will be open to talented people from Wales who want to build a career in television.
In both 2019 and 2020, in addition to a BAFTA mentor and free access to BAFTA events, one successful candidate will receive financial assistance throughout their postgraduate studies, as well as mentoring from a range of Tinopolis executives and creatives, depending on which area they will specialise in.
Tinopolis Chief Executive, Arwel Rees, said: “Wales has a vibrant TV production community, and given Tinopolis’ strong Welsh roots we are incredibly proud to team up with BAFTA to support and nurture a diverse range of Welsh talent. In addition to financial support, successful candidates will receive mentoring support and practical guidance from creatives and executives across the Tinopolis group, so this is a fantastic opportunity for anyone wanting to broaden their TV experience.”
BAFTA Cymru Director, Hannah Raybould said “Tinopolis is a key company in the Welsh sector and has long been committed to discovering and supporting new talent in front of and behind the camera. Their support via the new BAFTA Tinopolis Scholarship of those who may not have independent resources to start a journey into the growing TV industry in Wales is very exciting and is a fantastic addition to BAFTA’s learning initiatives in Wales, which include events such as Guru Live and our masterclass programme.”
