The rights for Daybreak Pictures’ latest release, True History of the Kelly Gang, have been acquired by IFC Films for North America.
IFC Films will release the show theatrically in 2020.
Starring Russell Crowe, Nicholas Hoult and George Mackay, the film is adapted from Peter Carey’s Man Booker prize winning novel True History of the Kelly Gang. This thrilling, bold adaptation charts the rise and fall of Australia’s original Mad Max; a coming of age tale about a defiant rebel sworn to wreak vengeance and havoc on the British Empire.
Hal Vogel (Endgame, Britz) is attached as one of the producers, with Justin Kurzel (Blue Tongue, Snowtown) directing.
The film premieres on Wednesday at the Toronto International Film Festival.
