London, Tuesday 13th October 2020 – UK broadcaster Channel 5 has commissioned Tinopolis-backed Firecracker Films to explore the length of one of the largest and most impressive remnants of the Roman Empire, Hadrian’s Wall. The 3 x 60’ series titled Walking Hadrian’s Wall With Robson Green will be fronted by actor and presenter Robson Green and was ordered for Channel 5 by commissioning editor Dan Louw.
Hadrian’s Wall stretches over 80 miles from coast to coast in Northern England, an ancient fortification that marked the northerly frontier of the Roman world and today sits just south of the Scottish border.
In this new three part series, Robson will tread in ancient footsteps as he makes the journey along the wall. Travelling from Wallsend in the east to the isolated Cumbrian village of Bowness in the west, Robson meets quirky characters, visits nearby landmarks and takes in dramatic landscapes across a landscape rich in history.
Elspeth O’Hare, Creative Director Firecracker Scotland said, "We are delighted to be working with Robson on this series. Although he has never walked the wall before, it cuts through his home town and the area where he grew up. He will bring such warmth and humour to this iconic journey.”
Firecracker has produced some of the most ground-breaking, popular factual programmes on television today, including Gypsy Eviction: Battle for Dale Farm, The Customer is always Right, The Great British Urine Test, Save Well Spend Better, Emma Willis Delivering Babies, Getting Hitched Asian Style, and more.
